    I was in the Doctor's office one day and was looking for some new receipes. I ran across this one and it looked so good I had to try it. You will love it.


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 McIntosh apples (2lb)
    • 4 Empire apples (2lb) or Granny Smith
    • 1/2 cup apple juice
    • 2 Tablespoon butter
    • 1/2 Cup cup seedless reduced-sugar
    • strawberry preserves
    • Liquid red food color (Optional)


    Instructions


    1. Peel, halve and core apples. Cut into 2-in chunks. Place in 5-qt sauce pan with apple juica and butter. Bring to boi. reduce heat to medium, simmer, covered 15 minutes or until apples are very tender.
    2. Crush apples with a potato masher until chunky. Stir in strawberry preserves and food coloring if using until blended. Serve warm or chillded.


    Final Comments


    This is a healthy desert as well as good to eat.
