    Gingerbread with Lemon Sauce

    1 cup molasses
    2 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp ginger
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    2 eggs, beaten separately
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup melted butter
    2 cup flour
    1 cup boiling water

    Mix molasses, soda and spices. Add sugar, butter, flour and water; beat well. Add egg yolks and fold in whites. Pour in a greased ring mold and bake in a 350 degrees oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

    Lemon Sauce for Gingerbread:
    1 cup boiling water
    2 Tbs flour
    2 Tbs lemon juice
    1/2 cup sugar
    3 Tbs butter

    Mix all ingredients. Cook 1 minute. Pour over gingerbread and top with whipped topping. Great served warm!
