    Upside Down- Gram's Pineapple Cake

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 box yellow cake mix
    • 1/2 C. butter
    • 1 C. brown sugar, packed
    • pineapple rings
    • Maraschino Cherries, halved and dried
    • pecan halves, optional
    • cooking spray


    1. Prepare cake mix according to box directions. Spray a square or rectangle pan with cooking spray. Cut butter into pieces and put onto bottom of pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan. Arrange pineapple slices on top of brown sugar and place a cherry half in the center of each ring. If you have pecan halves handy place them flat side up in nice arrangments in between the pineapple rings. Pour cake batter over top of the fruit and bake according to the box instructions or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for about 5 minutes and invert onto your serving plate.
