    Waterchestnuts wrapped in Bacon

    Recipe Introduction


    This is one of the most basic appetizers, however note that when it's served it is one of the first to disappear!


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups ketchup
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
    • 4 tbsp brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp white vinegar
    • toothpicks
    • Bacon
    • 1 can whole waterchestnuts


    Instructions


    1. Mix the sauce by mixing the ketchup, water, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and vinegar.
    2. Slice the bacon length wise.
    3. Par cook the bacon - do NOT crisp.
    4. wrap each waterchestnut with a strip of bacon and secure with a wooden toothpick.
    5. Pour the sacue of the chestnuts and marinate covered overnight.
    6. Heat in oven and serve right away.


    Final Comments


    Make the day prior to party, allow to marinate overnight and you can you just pull out of fridge and into oven - then serve. No fuss during your party! Also a good appetiazer to carry with you to friends!
