    List of Ingredients


    • Filling:
    • 1 cup raisins , chopped
    • 1/2 cup dates, chopped
    • 1/2 cup candied red cherries, chopped
    • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1/2 cup cold water
    • 1 pkg. (17oz) refrigerated sugar cookies


    Instructions


    1. make filling:
    2. In small saucepan, combine filling ingredients ; mix well.
    3. Cook over medium heat, stirring about 2 minutes.
      Remove from heat.
      Place pan in bowl of ice water to cool completely.
      Makes 2 cups.
    4. Meanwhile remove wrapper from sugar-cookie dough.
      Let stand at room temperture to soften.
    5. Preheat oven to 325*
      Lightly grease cookie sheets.
    6. Cut roll in half.
      Between two pieces of waxed paper on a damp surface, roll each half to a rectangle, 9 by 7 inches.
    7. Spread 1 cup filling over each rectangle.
      From long side, roll each rectangle, jelly roll fashion.
      If too soft to slice, wrap in waxed paper; place in freezer 10 minutes, or until firm.
    8. Slice cookies 1/4 inch thick.
      Bake, one inch apart on prepared cookie sheet. 8 to 10 minutes , or until golden .
      Remove to rack; cool complectely
    9. To store:
    10. Place in tightly covered jar or tin container.
      Store in a cool, dry place.

    11. Makes 44 cookies.
