Mix ingredients in a blender or stir very well. Let stand in warm room in open crock or jar for three days or until it smells yeasty and is full of bubbles. Stir often during the aging process. Leave 1 cup starter in a tightly covered crock in the refrigerator. Starter will keep for several weeks. Freeze starter if not used often. To activate the starter again, add 3 cups water and 3 cups flour (for making up to 2 loaves of bread). Stir often and keep in a warm room. It well be ready to use in about 6 hours; allow 24 hours if starter was frozen.
