    List of Ingredients

    *****CRUST*****
    8 tablespoons butter (1 stick) -- softened
1 cup dark brown sugar -- packed
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 cups pecan halves
    *****CARAMEL LAYER*****
    10 2/3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
    *****TOPPING*****
    1 cup milk chocolate chip

Preheat the oven to 350º. Have ready a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together until fluffy. Stir in the flour and mix at medium speed until blended. Put into the prepared pan and sprinkle pecan halves on top.

Prepare the caramel layer by combining the butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the entire surface begins to boil. Boil 30 to 60 seconds, while stirring. Pour over the crust. Bake near the center of the oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until the caramel layer is bubbly and the crust is light golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow to melt for several
minutes, then swirl with a knife. Cool completely before cutting.
