Recipe Introduction
Anyone that has bought a box of "Eastern Chilli" brand spice mix for chicken masala may have noticed that they print the directions in 2-point font... and it is printed nowhere that I can find on the internet. I had to take a picture of it on my phone and zoom in a LOT. Anyway, it is very good once you find the recipe, which I have adapted a little. Note: I used tilapia instead of chicken, which worked out very well.
List of Ingredients
1 lb chicken or fish, diced
1 egg
4 tbsp corn flour
3 tbsp soy sauce, divided
1 box "Eastern Chilli mix"
1 finger of ginger, crushed
6 cloves garlic, crused
1 medium onion, halved and sliced into half-rings
Chili peppers, thinly sliced to taste
1 tbsp chili sauce (Sriracha etc.)
4 tbsp tomato sauce (anything tomato based, I used Bloody Mary mix)
1 cup water (the recipe calls for 3 but I used 1)Recipe
1. Marinate meat with 1 egg, 4 tbsp corn flour, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 3 tbsp Chilli Mix for 10-15 mins
2. Deep fry, set aside.
3. In same pan, saute ginger, garlic, onions, green chilis in oil.
4. Add 3 tbsp Chilli Mix, saute more.
5. Add 2 tbsp soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce, and water. Bring to boil, add meat, then boil until it thickens.
Serve over rice (or for those of us that are low carb, broccoli).
