    Recipe Introduction

According to Pat, "When I was in the US Navy during WWII, stationed in Kentucky, a personal friend of Colonel Sanders and mine got this recipe for me. It's supposed to be the "real" recipe.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1-1/2 cups Flour
    • 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
    • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
    • 1 tsp. Salt
    • 1/2 cup Milk
    • 1/3 cup softened Lard or Shortening

    Instructions

    1. Stir the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together. Make a well in the center and add the milk and lard or shortening. Stir with fork only until well mixed.
    2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead six to eight times. Pat out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut out with a 1-3/4 inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.

    3. Bake in a 450ºF oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

    4. Makes 13 to 14 biscuits.
