    Recipe Introduction

This recipe was given to my better half over 35 years ago. It has been a fav of family & guests!

    Serves 6

    List of Ingredients

    • 2# lean ground beef
    • 4 medium onions, chopped fine
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 8oz. cans tomato sauce
    • 1 1/2 teasp. white vinegar
    • 1/4 t ground cayene/red pepper
    • 4 small dried whole red peppers
    • 1 t allspice
    • 1 t ground cinnamon
    • 1 t ground cumin (or seed)
    • 2 T chili powder
    • 8 C water
    • 2 dashes Worchestershire sauce
    • 5-6 whole bay leaves
    • 2 t salt (not optional)
    • 1 1/4 ground pepper
    • One way: Thick spaghetti noodles, cooked to package directions
    • Two way: topped with chili
    • Three way: Cheddar cheese - finely grated
    • Four way: Raw onion - finely chopped
    • Five way: topped with kidney beans
    • *Great on all beef hotdogs!

    Instructions

    1. All seasonings/ spices should be measured using rounded t/T for a full flavor.
    2. DO NOT BROWN THE BEEF
    3. Add 8C of water to deep stock pot.

    4. Using your hands, break up the raw beef as you add it to the water.
    5. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for several (4) hours or more to reduce the amount of the liquid. Stir often. Reduce until the chili is thick.
    6. When desired consistency is achieved: remove bay leaves and whole peppers (leave if for a spicier chili)
    7. Using a stick blender, blend until desired consistency. This is the preferred way to serve it.
    8. Served 5 ways!
