    Just BBQ ! (102)

    Just BBQ! (102)
OK, so.... if you really want to take the easy way out and just grill steaks, pork chops, franks and burgers outdoors, just buy any grill.. You will need to cook with High Direct Heat, (like 350 degrees F and above.) You will want to sear the meat Fast to seal in all the juices & flavor. A covered grill is not even needed since you'll be cooking fast from direct heat underneath. If this is still too much trouble for you, you better just forget about BBQueing now and find a good BBQ joint near you. BBQueing requires Slooow, Slooow cooking, 180 to 220 degrees F, Wood Smoke and at least 3 to 6 hours or more of cooking time and a not just any grill will do. Still want to BBQ? This means cooking the big and better cuts of meat... Pork Ribs.. Pork Shoulders.. Pork & Beef Briskets, Beef Roasts & Corn Beef Briskets, Hams & Turkeys. You can do this with a simple and cheap Water Smoker... about $30. It works ok... not very large nor very efficient... but it does provide a small door to add more charcoal without opening the main cover and releasing the heat and smoke... and it provides a water pan to keep the meat moist. I've been there & done that - it works well in warm weather when you have plenty of time and charcoal. But don't even try it in cold November weather to smoke your Thanksgiving Turkey! You'll be up all night long, like me.
More later - watch for Just BBQ! (103)
