Prune Cheesecake

List of Ingredients
FILLING:
1 ½ cup pitted prunes
½ cup Armagnac or brandy
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup cottage cheese, sieved
1¼ cup sour cream
2 eggs
scant ½ cup sugar
2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
CRUST:
1¾ cup crushed chocolate cookies
¼ cup ground walnuts
1/3 cup butter
GARNISH:
1/3 cup powdered sugar
Recipe
Filling: Place prunes in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Soak 15 minutes. Drain and discard water. Combine prunes and Armagnac. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature 24 hours.
Preheat oven to 350°.
Crust:
Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in crushed chocolate wafers and walnuts. Press mixture in bottom of greased 8-inch spring form pan. Set aside.
Drain and reserve liquid from prunes. Reserve 5 prunes for decoration. Coarsely chop remaining prunes. Beat cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream and eggs in a medium-size bowl until smooth. Beat in sugar and flour. Stir chopped prunes into cheese mixture. Stir in 1/2 of reserved prune liquid. Spoon filling into prepared crust.
Bake for 45 minutes or until set. Cool before removing from pan. To garnish, dust with icing sugar. Cut reserved prunes in half and arrange on cheesecake.
Makes 8 servings.
