    List of Ingredients




    Cookie:
    1 stick butter, softened
    1/3 cup granulated sugar
    2 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar
    1 large egg
    ½ teaspoon vanilla
    1½ cup all-purpose flour
    ½ teaspoon baking powder
    1/8 teaspoon salt

    Glaze:
    3 cups powdered sugar
    3 egg whites
    Assorted food coloring
    1/3 cup M&M’S chocolate mini baking bits

    Cookies:
    In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. In small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend into sugar mixture. Wrap dough and refrigerate 2-3 hours. Working with half of the fought at a time on floured surface, roll dough until 1/8” thick. Cut into pairs of desired shapes using 3” cookie cutters. Place 1” apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7-9 minutes. Immediately cut 1 of the cookies of each pair in half vertically. Cool on sheet 1 minute; cool completely on wire rack.

    Glaze:
    Combine sugar and egg whites in medium bowl until smooth. Separate into smaller bowls and color glaze with desired shades. Pour glaze over back of cookies; let set. Spread line of glaze down cut edge of cookie. Press “half” of cookie to middle of “whole” cookie; let set. Repeat with remaining “half” of cookies by attaching them to the middle of the cookie on the opposite side. Using glaze to attach, decorate with M&M’s.
