Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies

1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup butter
1-cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 ½ tablespoon vanilla
1 10oz jar maraschino cherries, drained (about 48), reserving juice
1 oz package semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
Recipe
In a medium bowl, combine flour and cocoa; set aside. In a large bowl beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium to high about 30 seconds or until softened. Add sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Beat until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheet (lined with foil). Press down center of each ball with thumb. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie. In a small saucepan combine the chocolate pieces and milk; heat until melted. Stir in 4 teaspoon of juice. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the frosting over each cherry. Thin frosting with juice if necessary. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees till until done.
