2 1/2 lb. chicken (boned) (2 1/2 to 3)
Crisco for deep frying
Dry Batter:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
Crispy Batter:
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 beaten egg yolk
3/4 c. flat beer or water
Recipe
Dry: Combine flour and seasoning in medium bowl. Crispy: Combine egg yolk, beer in another bowl; add other ingredients. Heat Crisco to 365 degrees in deep fryer. Moisten chicken strips. Dip in seasoned flour, then batter, then back again in flour. Fry in hot Crisco for 15 to 18 minutes. Drain on paper.
