    in a large saucepan, combine
    1 quart apple cider
    3/4 cup orange juice
    1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
    3 inch stick of cinnamon
    1 strip [1/2" by3"] of orange peel
    3 whole cloves
    3 whole allspice..

    bring to a boil... reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Strain out and discard cinnamon stick, peel, cloves and allspice..
    Place 2 cherries and 1 orange slice in each of 6 mugs. Pour about 2/3 cup spiced cider over the cherries. Serve warm. Can be prepared in advanced to reheat just before serving [keep it chilled until then..]..
