    Recipe Introduction

Lisa Townsel, fashion editor for the St. Louis Post Dispatch, also knows how to make a great lemonade...her secret, [well ,not anymore], is to roll the lemons in sugar, ..this releases the oil in the rind, giving it an extra flavor..

    5 large lemons...wash, dry...
1 1/2 cups sugar in large shallow bowl

Roll whole lemons in sugar, pressing very hard, until sugar absorbs oil from the lemon peels. Juice the lemons, and mix with sugar and 6 cups of water in a 2 qt glass pitcher, stir until sugar is dissolved, float a few lemon slices in pitcher..

Chill and serve over ice...8 servings
