Recipe Introduction
Grandma's Attic
Florissant, Mo
many small shops have come and gone over the last 30 years in our community and the surrounding towns. Most were born of a woman's dream to have a small business of her own. Usually spurred on by a garage full of finds. Antiques to be refinished and sold to someone who would cherish the piece and appreciate all the work to restore the treasure..
it wasn't difficult or too expensive to find a little storefront to set up as "Grandma's Attic", ready to receive friends and customers and offer a soothing drink on a nippy day...
this recipe is based on one such offering. My friend didn't sell much but she made lots of this brew!!
in a saucepan mix
1 quart water
1 tsp whole cloves
2 sticks of cinnamon, broken
and bring to a boil..
remove from the heat and add 5 tea bags and steep for ten minutes..
remove bags and strain liquid..
Add 2 1/2 to 3 cups sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
6 oz can frozen orange juice concentrate to strained tea and chill
to serve, mix one part concentrate with 3 part water...can be served hot or cold...
