    This recipe is from the Forum Cafeteria on Seventh between Olive and Locust -- which closed in the early 60's.

    List of Ingredients




    12 oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
    Salt
    4 C. skim milk
    6-1/2 Tablespoon. margarine
    Ground white pepper
    4 drops yellow food coloring
    l-1/2 Tablespoon granulated sugar
    l-1/2 C. grated Longhorn Cheddar Cheese - divided
    1/2 tsp. paprika

    Recipe



    Cook macaroni in salted water according to package directions until done, but firm to the bite. Drain; rinse with cold water until macaroni is cold and firm. Drain well. Preheat over to 350. In a saucepan heat milk until bubbles form around edges. Set aside. Melt margarine in large pot. Gradually sprinkle in flour; cook, stirring constantly till smooth. Stir in 2 tsp. salt, pepper to taste, food coloring, sugar and hot milk. Cook, stirring, until well mixed and creamy. Stir in 3/4 C. cheese; mix well until melted.
    Stir macaroni into sauce. Transfer to ovenproof casserole. Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 C. cheese and paprika. Bake 30 minutes. Yield: Nine 1 cup servings.
