    Perfect Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients

    Crust:

    2 cups sifted flour
    1 tsp. Salt
    ¾ cup Shortening
    ¼ cup cold water

    Filling:

    5-7 apples (2 cans sliced apples)
    1 cup sugar
    2 tbsp. Enriched flour
    ¼ tsp. nutmeg
    Dash of salt
    2 tbsp. Butter

    Recipe

    Preheat oven. Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl. With a pastry blender or 2 knives cut in shortening. Mixture should be fairly coursed. Divide mixture and shape into 2 balls; roll each ball (1 for bottom and 1 for top).

    Peel apples and slice thinly. Combine sugar, flour, spices, and salt; mix with apples. Line 9-inch pie plate with crust, fill with apple mixture, dot with butter. Adjust top crust; sprinkle with sugar for sparkle. Bake in hot oven (400F) for 50 minutes or until done.
