    List of Ingredients




    1 cup softened margarine
    2 t vanilla
    2 t. rum extract
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    1 t nutmeg
    3 cups flour

    Confectioner's Sugar Frosting:

    1# box confectioners sugar
    1 stick softened margarine
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    milk as required to make frosting stiff enough to pipe on cookies with cake decorating tools

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients together and take generous spoonfulls and roll on a floured ledge to about the size of your pinky. Cut the "snake" into 2" lengths. Many cookies can be placed on one cookie sheet because they don't rise or spread. Do not grease cookie sheets and WATCH for golden brown bottoms. Oven 350°F (about 5 min. depending on your oven).
    Cool and frost w/Confectioner's Sugar Frosting.

    Add food coloring to some of the frosting. Can also use nonpareils and colored jimmies.
    This frosting is nearly enough to do two batches. (One batch is about 90 2" cookies.)
