If you haven't joined the 21st century yet and like me, still cook with a NON self-cleaning oven, PAY ATTENTION!
I was TRULY amazed at how well this works!

Spray bottle filled with water

Sprinkle baking soda all over the bottom of oven until it is covered completely with about 1/4" of baking soda. Then, using a clean spray bottle, spray the baking soda with water until the baking soda is thoroughly damp but not flooded. Dampen the baking soda again if it is drying out. Before you go to bed, do that again. In the morning, the baking soda can effortlessly be scooped out of the oven with a sponge or spatula, bringing all the grime with it. That's all there is to it! The only downside is that you need to rinse out the white residue left by the baking soda. I've found a large, dampened, towel type rag works well for this.
