    Manhattan Clam Chowder 2

    List of Ingredients




    2 T chopped onion
    1/4 C sliced celery, optional
    1 can (6 1/2oz.) minced clams, undrained
    1 can (16 oz.) peeled tomatoes, chopped with juice
    1 small potato, cubed
    1 small carrot, chopped
    Dash thyme
    Salt and pepper
    1 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled, optional
    Oyster crackers

    Recipe



    Combine all ingredients except crackers in a saucepan. Simmer covered for 50 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. If desired, serve with oyster crackers.
    Makes 1 quart.
