2 TSP. BAKING POWDER
3/4 CUP SUGAR
1/4 TSP. SALT
1/2 CUP MILK
2 TBSP. BUTTER
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
1 OZ. UNSWEETENED BAKING CHOCOLATE MELTED
1/2 CUP FINELY CHOPPED NUTS
(TOPPING)
1/2 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR
2 TBSP. COCOA
1 CUP BOILING WATER

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350' SIFT THE DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER. COMBINE THE DRY INGREDIENTS WITH THE MILK, BUTTER, & VANILLA EXTRACT. ADD THE CHOCOLATE. STIR UNTIL WELL BLENDED. POUR INTO A GREASED 8x8x2 INCH METAL PAN. IN A BOWL, COMBINE THE SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR, & COCOA. SPRINKLE THE MIXTURE EVENLY OVER THE CAKE BATTER. POUR THE BOILING WATER OVER ALL. BAKE FOR 30 MIN. SERVE WITH WHIPPED CREAM OR VANILLA ICE CREAM.
