2 STICKS SOFTENED BUTTER OR MARGARINE
3 OZ. SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE
2 CUPS SUGAR
3 EGGS
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
1 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
3/4 CUP COCOA
1/4 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1/2 TSP. SALT

3/4 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
HEAT OVEN TO 325' GREASE THE BOTTOM OF A 13x9x2 BAKING PAN. IN A MIXER BOWL, BEAT BUTTER, CREAM CHEESE, & SUGAR UNTIL IT IS LIGHT & FLUFFY. ADD THE EGGS & VANILLA; BEAT WELL. IN A BOWL STIR TOGETHER FLOUR, COCOA, BAKING POWDER, & SALT; GRADUALLY ADD TO THE BUTTER MIXTURE, BLENDING WELL. STIR IN THE NUTS. SPREAD BATTER INTO THE PREPARED BAKING PAN. BAKE FOR 35-40 MIN. OR JUST UNTIL THE BROWNIES PULL FROM THE SIDES OF THE PAN. COOL COMPLETELY ON A WIRE RACK. CUT INTO BARS.
