    Southern Barbecue Rib Tips

    We love barbecued ribs but not of barbecue sauce. Of course you can add a bottle of sauce to the table if you feel you must.

    List of Ingredients




    Barbecue Spice Rub (see recipe under condiments)

    5 lbs. ribs-I like to ask butcher to cut them in half lengthwise but DON'T try to cut them at home. You could wind up with nothing more than ruined ribs and or some serious cuts.

    Recipe



    Line two 9 X 13 inch pans with foil (I also use a none stick spray).
    Rub ribs with spice mixture, patting to help spices adhere, coating on all sides. Cover and refrigerate overnight (5-6 hours minimum)
    To bake, heat oven to 450°F. Place pans with ribs in the oven and cook for 30 minutes. Pour off liquid if needed.
    Reduce oven to 300°F. Loosely tent pans with foil. Bake until done (if cut in half about 30-45 minutes). Remove foil and bake an additional 20-25 minutes. Allow to rest about 10 minutes before serving.

    Notes:
    I like to serve this with fresh coleslaw, potatoe salad and a veggie and relish tray.
