    Sesame Crunch

    An old recipe with a unique flavor that few can resist.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 c. sesame seeds (about 12 oz.)
    • 1/2 c. honey
    • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp. salt


    Instructions


    1. Heat sesame seeds in a large skillet over medium heat until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Remove to a bowl; wipe skillet clean of seeds.
    2. Combine honey, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and salt in the same skillet. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 2 minutes.
    3. Butter or coat a 10 1/4 x 7 pan with cooking spray. Stir seeds into the syrup; pour into the pan. Spread candy to an even layer with buttered, metal spatual. Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes. Lift out of the pan to a cutting board.
    4. Cut candy with a large knife into 4 lengthwise strips. Cut each strip crosswise into thirteen 1/4 inch pieces. When firm, wrap individually in plastic wrap or store in a single layer in an airtight container.


    Final Comments


    Its so easy to make these very unique and delicious treats. Yield: about 1 lb.
