    Spring Prune Cake – Grandma

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup vegetable oil
    1 ½ cups granulate sugar
    3 eggs
    2 cups all purpose flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    ½ tsp baking soda
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp nutmeg
    1 tsp allspice
    1 cup cooked mashed prunes
    1 cup butter milk
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Recipe



    Cream oil & sugar. Ad eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately to creamed mixture with prunes & buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased & floured 9x1x2 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Add hot caramel glaze in cake immediately.

    CARMEL GLAZE

    1 cup sugar
    ½ cup buttermilk
    ½ tsp baking soda
    1 tbs corn syrup
    ½ cup butter
    ½ tsp vanilla

    Combine in medium size sauce pan. Over low heat, bring to rolling oil, (probably takes 10 minutes), stirring occasionally. Pour over hot cake immediately.
