    Hamburger Buns - Processor

    This is one way to get invited back, time and again. Offer to bring homemade buns.

    1 package yeast
    1/2 cup water, 115 F
    1/4 cup, plus 1 tablespoon sugar
    1/2 cup dry skim milk
    2 teaspoons salt
    6 tablespoons butter, cubed
    6 cups flour
    1 1/2 cup cold water

    Proof the yeast in hot water, with 1 tablespoon sugar.
    In processor bowl, mix the 1/4 cup sugar, dry milk, salt, butter, flour.
    Pulse will adding the yeast mixture.
    Add the cold water, and process until dough forms a mass.
    Check the dough.If too moist , add flour one tablespoon at a time.
    If too dry, add cold water, one tablespoon at a time.
    Process for one minute.
    Transfer to large oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise to double.
    Punch down.
    Preheat oven to 400 F.
    Roll or pat dough until 1/2 inch thick. Cut in buns with a 3 inch round cutter. If for hot dogs, cut into finger size.
    Place on greased cookie sheets, one inch apart. Allow to rise until almost double.
    Bake for 15 minutes or until well browned.
    If using 2 pans, rotate after 10 minutes.
