    Butter Balls

This recipe was given to me by Pat Brown, in the early 50’s. It was new and different at that time.

1 cup butter (must be butter)
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 3/4 cups flour
    1/2 cup nuts, finely chopped

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla and flour. Mix well.
    Stir in chopped nuts.
Chill several hours for ease in handling

    Preheat oven to 350 F
Shape into balls 1 inch in diameter
Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
Bake 20 minutes, until edges are light tan.

Roll balls, while warm, in powdered sugar.

    Yields 3 dozen cookies.
