    Dinah Shore’s Cheesecake Cookies.

This recipe is from an old Woman’s Day. I’ve served it often at luncheons, showers, what ever. It has always been a hit.

    1 cup flour
    1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1/3 cup butter melted
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons milk
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 350 F
Grease an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan.

In a small bowl combine first three ingredients.
Stir in melted butter until well combined.
Reserving 1/3 cup, pat remaining crumbs into pan.
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes

In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, and sugar until smooth.
    Beat in remaining ingredients
Pour over crust; sprinkle on reserved crumbs.
Bake 30 minutes more or until set.
    Cool on wire rack.

When cool, cut into 2 inch squares; cut each square diagonally in half.
    Makes about 32.
