    Ginger Snaps

    Recipe Introduction


    These are every bit as good as the rolled. Just a lot easier and faster to make


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup vegetable shortening (I use Crisco butter flavor)
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 egg, lightly beaten
    • 1/4 cup dark molasses
    • 1 tablespoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
    • 2 cups flour
    • additional sugar for rolling cookies


    Instructions


    1. Cream shortening and sugar,add molasses, and mix well

    2. In a separate bowl, place baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and flour,
      mix thoroughly with a whisk, or sift. Add to sugar mixture, and mixed just until combined.

    3. preheat oven to 350 F

    4. Form into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar, place balls 11/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    5. Bake about 12 minute,or until lightly brown around the edges

    6. Let cool on cookie sheet.
