    For the beginning cook, and the more experienced that thinks they can't cook rice.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 1/2 tablespoon butter
    • 1 cup long grain rice
    • 1 envelope onion soup mix
    • 2 1/4 cup boiling water
    • 1/2 cup blanched almonds, slivered


    Instructions


    1. In a small skillet, over medium heat, stir rice in butter until brown
    2. Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole
    3. Add onion soup mix, water and almond
    4. Add soup mix, boiling water, and almonds
    5. Cover tightly
    6. Bake at 325 F for 25 minutes
    7. Uncover and bake 5 minutes more
