    BACON-TOMATO SPAGHETTI

    Recipe Introduction

    This is one of my famiy's favorites...a little different than regular spaghetti and some of us prefer it!

    List of Ingredients

    1# bacon, cut into about 1 inch pieces
    1 lge. onion, chopped
    1 15oz. can diced tomatoes
    1 tsp. basil
    2 tsps. Oregano
    ½ tsp. sugar
    ½ tsp. salt
    ½ tsp. pepper
    ½# spaghetti
    Cheddar cheese, grated

    Recipe

    Fry bacon in large skillet until almost crisp, add onions and cook until limp. Add the tomatoes and seasonings. (When using canned tomatoes, I sometimes add a small, fresh tomato for additional flavor.) Cover and cook to blend while spagetti is boiling to 'aldente' stage. Drain spaghetti and add to bacon-tomato mixture. Place in casserole and bake at 325º for about 45 mins.. Sprinkle cheese on top and return to over to melt slightly, or, just pass the cheese at the table.
    (This is one of those dishes that is even better the second day!)
