    Bacon Topped French Bread

    Source of Recipe

    Cyndi

    List of Ingredients

    • Loaf of French bread
    • Stick of butter
    • 2 tbs of mustard (regular yellow mustard)
    • 4 or 5 strips of bacon (I like maple bacon but you can use any kind)
    • About a cup of shredded swiss or cheddar cheese, (I like the cheddar cheese the best)

    Instructions

    1. Cut the French bread into 1 inch slices, but do not cut all the way through. The loaf still needs to be intact. Then place the loaf on a cookie sheet.

    2. Melt the stick of butter and once it is melted stir in the mustard.

    3. Use a pastry brush to brush inside each slice of bread and then over the top.

    4. Stuff cheese into each slice

    5. You can either wrap the entire loaf of bread with the bacon, or just lay enough over the top to cover the loaf of bread.

    6. Bake on 350 until the bacon is done, (remove from oven before the bacon gets crunchy.)

    7. Remove the bacon and serve.

    Final Comments

This bread is great with a lot of different meals, but my favorite meal to have it with is potato soup, yet another great recipe from Cyndi. A helpful hit for this recipe would be to line your pan with foil before baking. Makes your cleanup a lot easier.
