    List of Ingredients




    2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
    2 cups All-Purpose flour
    1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    4 teaspoons instant coffee crystals
    1 teaspoon water
    1 egg

    Dipping Chocolate:
    1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
    3 tablespoons shortening

    Recipe



    In a microwave safe bowl melt unsweetened chocolate (30 seconds). Set aside to cool.

    Stir coffee crystals into water; set aside.

    Mix together flour, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.

    In a large bowl beat shortening and butter until softened. Add both sugars and beat until fluffy. Stir in coffee mixture, melted chocolate and egg. Gradually add flour mixture and thoroughly mix. Cover and chill dough for at least an hour. Shape into 8 inch rolls. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill overnight.

    Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes in a 350º oven. Remove and cool completely.

    In a microwave bowl combine chocolate pieces and shortening until melted. Dip one half of the cookie in mixture and place on waxed paper to set.

    Yield: 5 1/2 dozen
