    Country Brownie Mix

    List of Ingredients




    6 cups flour
    4 tablespoons baking powder
    4 tablespoons salt
    8 cups sugar
    8 ounces baking cocoa
    2 cups shortening

    Directions To Bake Brownies:
    2 1/2 cups brownie mix
    2 eggs,beaten
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    1/2 cups nuts, chopped
    powdered sugar


    Recipe



    To Prepare Brownie Mix:
    In a large bowl, combine first five ingredients. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until evenly distributed. Store in a lg. airtight container. Keeps 10-12 weeks.

    To Bake Brownies:
    Heat oven to 350°F. Combine first four ingredients. Beat with spoon until smooth. Spread into a greased 8" baking pan. Bake for 20-25 min. or until top tests done. Cut into squares while still warm. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

    To Double:
    Place 5 cup portions in individual freezer bags and store the mix in the freezer. When ready to bake brownies, use 1 bag, double the recipe and bake in a 9x13 pan for about 20 min.
