    Herb Rice Pilaf

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup uncooked long grain rice
    1 cup chopped celery
    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1/4 cup butter
    2 1/2 cups water
    1 pkg (2 to 2-1/2 oz) dry chicken noodle soup mix
    2 tsp. fresh minced parsley
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1/4 tsp. rubbed sage
    1/4 tsp. pepper

    Recipe



    In a large skillet, cook onions, celery and uncooked rice in butter, stirring constantly until rice is browned. Stir in the next 6 ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

    Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
    Serves 6

    You can add chicken or shrimp to make this a meal instead of a side dish.
