    Source of Recipe

    Posted by FootsieBear

    List of Ingredients

    2 packages active dry yeast
    2 cups warm water (110°-115°)
    1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt (yes, that's what the recipe says)
    1/4 cup soft shortening
    1 egg
    6 1/2-7 cups flour

    Recipe

Mix yeast with warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, shortening, and egg. Add flour, stirring in enough to form soft dough. Cover and place in refrigerator. About 2 hours before baking, shape dough into rolls, coffee cake, etc. Cover; let rise until double. Bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes. Can be made into rolls as soon as mixed.
