    Source of Recipe

    Posted by FootsieBear

    List of Ingredients

    1 package yeast
    1/4 cup lukewarm water
    1 cup milk, scalded
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups stone ground whole wheat flour
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

    Recipe

Dissolve yeast in water. Pour hot milk over margarine, sugar, and salt. Let cool. Add whole wheat flour. Beat about 7 minutes. Add yeast and egg. Beat with mixer until smooth. Add approximately 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. (Add more flour if dough is too soft, although dough should be somewhat soft). Let rise until bubbly. Stir down, and let rise again. Stir down, and shape into rolls. Use for sweet or dinner rolls.

Note: If using dry milk in place of whole milk, add dry milk to sugar and be sure to add another cup of water.
