    Heath-Bar Pie

    Source of Recipe

    Posted by Mary Ellen

    List of Ingredients

    Pie:

    12 (3/4 ounce) Heath bars
    1 1/4 cups chocolate-wafer crumbs
    1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened

    Sauce:

    1 stick butter
    1 (12-ounce) package chocolate chips
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1 (13-ounce) can evaporated milk
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    Yield: 8-10 servings

    Recipe

Place the Heath bars in the freezer to harden. Mix the crumbs and butter. Line a 9-by-13-inch pan with wax paper. Press the mixture evenly into pan. Place the crust in the refrigerator to harden. Crush the Heath bars and mix with the softened ice cream. Place the mixture into the crust and freeze overnight.

Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a pan. Add the sugar and milk. Cook the mixture about 8 minutes or until it is thick, stirring constantly. Add the vanilla. Serve the sauce warm over the pie. (The sauce can be made earlier and heated before serving.)
