    Mystery Pecan Pie

    List of Ingredients

    Filling:
    9" pie crust
    8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 egg
    1-1/4 cup chopped pecans

    Topping:
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 cup light or dark corn syrup
    1 teaspoon vanilla


    Recipe

    In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 egg. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Spread in bottom of pie crust. Sprinkle with pecans. In a bowl, combine all topping ingredients. Beat on medium speed until just blended. Gently pour topping over pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until center is firm to touch.

    9" Crust:
    1 cup flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt (sift these two together)

    Add 1/2 cup vegetable shortening and blend together. Add 3 tablespoons cold water (about) and press together. Roll out for 9" crust.
