    Carl's Banana Apple Brown Betty

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 apples -- -- pared and sliced
    3 bananas -- peeled and sliced
    3 cups small bread cubes
    3 tablespoons butter

    Mix sugar, salt and cinnamon together. Combine with sliced apples and bananas.

    Brown bread cubes in butter. Fill buttered baking dish with alternate layers of bread cubes and fruit using bread for top and bottom layers. Cover dish and bake in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake 15 minutes longer, or until apples are tender
