    3/4 cup light margarine
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup Splenda
    1/4 cup light molasses
    2 1/2 cups flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    3/4 teaspoon ginger
    3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    3/4 teaspoon cloves
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 egg white

    Preheat oven to 375º In separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until blended well. Add nuts and raisins.
    Divide the dough into 4 portions. Roll into 12" logs. Place 2 logs on ungreased cookie sheet, leaving room on the sides for expansion. Press dough down to make it about 3/4" high and 1 1/2" wide. Brush top lightly with egg white, and sprinkle with granulated sugar, if desired.
    Bake at 375º for 10 to 15 minutes, until edges are just turning brown. Remove from oven, and let cool 5 minutes. Cut crosswise into 1 1/2" pieces.

    NOTES : I found the dough to be a bit sticky so positioned it and flattened it on the cookie sheet with a rubber spatula!
