    My grandmother always fried her macaroni before cooking it. I really like this because it leave the macaroni firm and adds a slightly different taste. also omits the extra step of having to boil the macroni. Try it I think you'll like this.

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
    1 tablespoon cooking oil
    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 med onion (diced)
    salt and pepper to taste.
    1 14oz. can mexican stewed tomatoes
    1 8oz. can tomato sauce
    1 cup water

    Recipe



    heat oil in a large frying skillet add uncooked macaroni cook and stir until lightly golden in color remove from pan and set aside.
    Brown ground beef until done and drain, return to pan add onion, salt and pepper and cook until onion is opaque.
    add stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and return macaroni to skillet stir to combine ingredients. Bring to a boil cover with tight lid. Lower tempature to low and cook 15-20 or til macaroni is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
