    Clam Chowder

    My personal recipe that I changed up from family recipe.

    List of Ingredients

    6 cans chopped clams (do not drain)
    2 1/2 cups chopped celery
    2 cup chopped onions
    4 1/2 cups diced potatoes
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1 1/2 cups water

    Mix all of the above ingredients.
    Bring to a soft boil and cook for about 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

    White Sauce
    1 cup butter
    1 cup flour
    1 quart heavy cream
    2 cups milk
    1 teaspoon pepper

    melt butter over med-high heat and add flour and cook 1 minute whisk in ceam and milk,cook until thick and bubbly add pepper then add to the above mixture.

    Optional: add 1/2 lb. bacon (cooked & diced)
