    Treasured Family Recipes

    Recipe Introduction

This recipe is a favorite in my family. My sister makes these by the dozens, and she is a great cook. The recipe has been handed down from generation to generation in her husbands family. Treasures Family Recipes is our family cookbook.

    List of Ingredients

    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. ribbon cane syrup
    (Cain's is the best)
    1 stick margarine (melted)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 egg

    Recipe

Cream together flour, sugar, and syrup. Beat egg slightly and add to wet mixter. Add flour and spices together. Blend together wet and dry mixtures.
Pat out dough on floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out with cookie cutter ( about the size of a bisquit). Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 10 min. Tea cakes should be soft and moist.
