    Zak's Famous Salsa

    Source of Recipe

    Zak Kramer

    Recipe Introduction

Zak made this recipe up after watching the "Salsa Guy" at the state fair trying to sell his food chopper. He came home and tried making variation about variation - gladly eating the "experiments." The year he was 10 he went got a purple on his salsa demonstration in Riley County. Then he took it to the Kansas State Fair. Photographers from the local paper came and put his picture in the paper. He was SOOOO proud.

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 green pepper
    1/2 onion
    chilies or jalapenos
    1 tomatillo
2 med tomatoes OR 16 oz. can tomatoes
    1/2 t. cumin
1/8 t. dried garlic OR 1 clove fresh garlic
    1/2 t. chili powder
    pinch of cilantro
    Salt and Pepper to taste

    Recipe

Chop green pepper, onion and chilies or jalapenos by hand or using a food processor. Chop until pieces are the size you want. Add tomatoes and tomatillo and chop until tomatoes are chunky. Again, this depends on how chunky you like it. Add remaining ingredients and chop/stir just until blended. Pour into a serving dish and refrigerate to let flavors mingle. Serve with tortilla chips, enchiladas, tacos, scrambled eggs or anyway you desire.
