    This is a fabulous bread recipe that goe's great with any lunch or dinner meal.

    List of Ingredients




    4 Cups Flour
    1/4 Cup Sugar
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
    1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
    1/4 Cup Margarine
    3 To 4 Tablespoons Caraway Seed
    2 Cups Raisins
    1 1/3 Cup Buttermilk
    2 Egg Whites, Beaten
    Milk

    Recipe



    Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Cut in margarine until mixture is coarse meal. Stir in caraway seeds and raisins. Combine buttermilk and egg, stir into dry mix until moistened. Turn out onto floured surface and knead lightly until smooth. Shape dough into a ball and place in a 7-inch round loaf pan. Cut a 4-inch cross about 1/4 inch deep on top. Brush top with milk. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown.
