    This is a wonderful, light cake for that special occassion. Super when frosted with the orange icing listed here on this site.

    List of Ingredients




    2 Cups Sugar
    3/4 Cup Butter
    4 Cups Sifted Flour
    3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
    1 1/2 Cups Milk
    1 Teaspoon Vanilla
    1 Teaspoon Almond Flavoring
    5 Egg Whites

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar together then add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Add vanilla and almond flavorings. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees until golden. Use a straw or thin plastic strip to check that cake is done in the center.
